Rathania (Krameria triandra)

Rathania is a branchy root bush located in the Peruvian Andes, at a height of between 900 and 1,200 meters above sea level. It grows wild in dry, sandy or gravelly terrain.

The collection of our Rathania is carried out under the operation of a sustainable Harvesting Management Plan audited by the Natural Resources Institute of Peru (INRENA), due to its high demand in the market.

The used part of this plant is the root, and the quality is used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications, specifically in dental care products. It also has anti-inflammatory and toning properties due to its high tannin content.

Benefits:

  • Disinfecting, toning and firming action on the mucous membranes of the mouth.

  • Powerful astringent, used in swelling of the lips, irritations and bleeding from the gingival mucosa.
